2026 Lee's Summit Healthcare Foundation awards record $104,000 in scholarships

Among the awards, the GLSHF is presenting its first-ever Don Kanan Scholarship for $10,000, so named for the longtime Lee’s Summit businessman, philanthropist and lifetime Lee’s Summit resident. The Kahan award will go to Annika Tsay, who is in the 6-year University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine program. All recipients attended high school in Lee’s Summit.
Joining Tsay in earning scholarships ranging from $5,000 to $8,000 for this upcoming academic year are Aaron Roberts (attending St. Luke’s School of Radiologic Technology), Chris Obersteadt (KU School of Medicine), Brynnley Lambertz (Missouri St. University, Nursing), Annalise Lawlor (UMKC), Kaci Moritz (KU, Ultrasound), Kendall Esely (University of Central Missouri, Speech Pathology), Joy Thomas (Western Governors University, Radiology, Mammography), Abigail Salanski (Saint Louis University School of Medicine), Claire Franciskato (KU, Dietetics), Sarah Foote (Kansas City University, Osteopathic Medicine), Ella Fries (Creighton University, Sports Science), Kameron Hahn (KCU, Osteopathic Medicine), Charlotte Brownlee (UCM, Nursing) and Victoria Garrett (Midwestern University, Health Sciences).
