GLSHF GRANT SUCCESS STORY: ReDiscover

Every year, the Greater Lee’s Summit Healthcare Foundation focuses on working with local nonprofit organizations to make Lee’s Summit a healthier place for everyone to work, play, learn, and live.

ReDiscover is one of the 2017 grant recipients that is putting the GLSHF grant to good use. As a safety net clinic, ReDiscover improves the health of Lee's Summit residents, providing mental health care plus coordinating physical health care. In 2017, ReDiscover received a grant award of $12,000. The GLSHF grant impact is a healthy one. ReDiscover’s client kitchen remodel features client cooking classes to help clients learn ways to eat healthier.

In 2017, eleven nonprofits were awarded grants from GLSHF that came to a grand total of $77,495.

The Grant Cycle Is now OPEN for local nonprofits to apply for health-focused grants for 2018.

The next Application Deadline is October 31, 2017.

The Greater Lee’s Summit Healthcare Foundation (GLSHF) is accepting grant applications until the October 31st deadline. Foundation grants will be awarded to not-for-profit Organizations or other entities set up to administer a program which will enhance, improve or empower health and wellness within the Greater Lee’s Summit, MO area. Grant requests may be submitted by October 31, 2017. Grants awarded will be announced in January, 2017.

Priority will be given to those proposals most consistent with the Foundation mission and with the widest potential benefit to the community. This may include projects in the areas of: • Research • Education • Public Training Programs • Programs in Schools • Clinics for indigent care • Equipment • Services
