Samantha Herbel Awarded GLSHF Scholarship
Congrats to Samantha Herbel!
The Greater Lee’s Summit Healthcare Foundation is celebrating the 2018 scholarship awards given to 12 local health-focused students, who included Samantha. She is the awardee of a $5000 GLSHF scholarship.
Samantha says, "I have always known that I was destined to be a nurse. The incredible impact they have on their patients is the major reason that I am drawn to this profession. Short term, I aspire to finish my BSN over the next two years & continually better myself to best serve others. Long term, I aspire to work for Doctors Without Borders after graduation. The Greater Lee's Summit Health Care Foundation is helping me achieve my dreams by allowing me to focus on my schooling, because of this foundation I do not have to work two jobs while I am in my nursing program. I hope I can bless others as they have blessed me!"
Since 2003, GLSHF has granted more than $1.3 million in scholarships or grants to a multitude of awardees designed to impact the health and well-being of the greater Lee’s Summit community.
