Taylor Park Awarded GLSHF Scholarship

Congratulations, Taylor Park! Taylor is one of thirteen awardees of the health-focused scholarships from the Greater Lee's Summit Healthcare Foundation in 2019. His award was for $5,000.

Taylor says, "I consider myself extremely lucky to have grown up in Lee’s Summit. I had so many impactful teachers attending Lee’s Summit North High School that supported me and prepared me for the next step in my education. I knew that I wanted to become a registered nurse back then and I had so many supportive people in school and in the community. I obtained my nursing degree in 2014 from the University of Missouri and have since worked in various areas of nursing, including the intensive care unit and post surgical care. I have since realized that I could better help those in my community by becoming a nurse practitioner. I am currently attending Maryville University in order to obtain my degree in Family Nurse Practitioner, so I can provide care throughout the entire lifespan from children to adults. I am extremely fortunate to have the support of my family, my wife, and this organization as I pursue this phase of my career, and as I continue to strive to positively affect those in my community. Thank you so much!"

Since 2003, GLSHF has granted more than $1.4 million in scholarships or grants to a multitude of awardees designed to impact the health and well-being of the greater Lee’s Summit community.
