Emily Griffith Awarded GLSHF Scholarship
Congratulations, Emily Griffith! Emily is one of thirteen awardees of the health-focused scholarships from the Greater Lee's Summit Healthcare Foundation in 2019. Her award was for $5,000.
Emily says, "My biggest passion in healthcare is working with patients who have historically faced barriers to care. I think that some of the biggest challenges and opportunities for physicians lie in being creative and resourceful enough to provide care for patients with few resources, and to advocate for changes that make healthcare more accessible. A scholarship from the GLSHF is helping me to finish my 4th and final year of medical school, making me one step closer to becoming an attending physician who can work with those patient populations."
Since 2003, GLSHF has granted more than $1.4 million in scholarships or grants to a multitude of awardees designed to impact the health and well-being of the greater Lee’s Summit community.
